9 year old loves all of Matt Christopher's books and he loves hockey. Hard to find some reading material that will pull our 9 year old away from electronics but these books do, so we purchase them all!

It was a gift.

It's another exciting adventure story by Matt Christopher that every hockey fan will like. A surprise twist has a star hockey player kidnapped and hockey prisoner on another team. My kids love it and share it with their friends. It's a suspense fill mystery with lots of action, I strongly recommend it, I give it five stars, and I'm Marvin P. Ferguson, author of The Unknown Baseball Player.

I'm 25 years old and I still read this masterpiece at least once a year. My friends all make fun of me, but its just so good that I can't put it down. So what if I'm single and living w/my persian cat, who I named after the character Kenneth. It has all the elements that a good book needs: suspense, drama, kidnapping of children, and hockey. Christopher is a GENIUS up there with greats like Dante, Shakespeare and Carolyn Keene.

James C. McDavid (PhD, Indiana, 1975) is a professor of Public Administration at the University of Victoria in British Columbia, Canada. He is a specialist in program evaluation, performance measurement, and organizational performance management. Perhaps this book is the toughest slog of any read so far in my grad classes. The authors managed to make even the simplest of ideas challenging to envision in practice. Try this:"Although strategic planning is widely accepted as sound management practice for the achievement of objectives, organization theorists have observed that organizations appear, as well, to pursue behavioral goals, which may or may not coincide with statements enshrining the rational purposes of the organization."Why not simplify as:Sound management uses strategic planning to achieve objectives. But, in some organizations, stated behavioral goals may not align with the expressed purposes for the organization's existence.I suspect the authors' confusing writing style creates the need for endless repetition. They need to say nearly everything 3 different ways for the reader to understand.I feel fortunate that additional class resources and online resources are much easier to comprehend. The topics of project evaluation and performance are not difficult to understand.

This book goes in circles. The authors takes easy to understand concepts and make them extremely confusing. As a Ph.D. student I have had my share of hard to read textbooks, this book is at the top of the list. The only good thing I find about the book is they provide easy to understand definitions in the glossary. I would never recommend this book to learn program evaluation. Also it should be noted there are typos in the book.

This text book is one of the worst I have read in my eight years of undergrad and graduate study. With few exceptions the material is presented in a tangential, rambling and circumstantial manner. I found myself frequently referring to other academic sources in order to decipher the subject material that McDavid awkwardly attempts to convey. I was initially hoping that the negative reviews of the text were hyperbole, but I have discovered they were accurate. If a professor assigns this text, my advice is to skip the class and wait until a better one is assigned.

This is without a doubt one of the most poorly written textbooks I've come across in my life. What is supposed to be an introduction to program evaluation is instead a blob of information thrown together, poorly formatted, and nearly impossible to comprehend for someone that's just beginning to learn about these concepts. Definitions of key concepts are basically missing unless you look at the glossary, examples of key concepts are nonexistent and everything just comes across as mambo jumbo. Truly a terrible excuse for a university used textbook.

This book is an extremely long read and I found it not very useful at all. I needed it for class, but it is uninteresting and very boring. It takes awhile just to read one chapter.

Good and pretty big material but too much formal and sophisticated explanations. Basically works for people with some experience and who has enough time and assistance.

First of all, this was a scanned e-book without any links. Possibly the limitations of the Kindle file format where it's not like PDF files with bright color, links, and text flow.Second, the material was pointless, overblown, and unnecessary. Would not recommend the book at all.

The book within two days in perfect condition. I don't like the content much, but the product was perfect.

I have ordered several of these crossword books for my dad and he loves them! Most are a larger size, but note this one is only about 6" x 9". We definitely prefer the larger size of crossword book, although I'm sure the content will be similar to what we expect. The print is just smaller to fit in the smaller page.

The puzzles are nice but the book is bound very tightly and doesn't open to make the pages lay flat. The only way I could do the puzzles was to tear the pages out of the book.

I haven’t been able to use it, as the font is so small. I thought it was a large omnibus book with one puzzle per large page.

I bought this for my father in-law for Christmas. He loves doing crosswords, and he's recently been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. He's not able to be as physically active as he would like, so having new crossword books is something he enjoys, and is relying even more on to pass the time, and keep his mind busy. He doesn't like them too easy, but doesn't want them too hard either, and he said this book is just right for what he likes. He requested any Tuesday addition style of book.For those who may not know, The New York Times Crossword puzzles get more difficult as the day's of the week progress. So, Monday has the easiest day, then Tuesday's are more challenging, and so on through Saturday, which is the most difficult day. Sunday's puzzles are different, and have a larger layout style of puzzle, which has a varying degree of difficulty throughout.I took a few pictures to show a little sample of what to expect from this Tuesday collection, and just to give you an idea of what to expect. The cover did come with a rip on the front, and a crease on the back, so I was a little upset about that. I didn't take a star off for that, because it doesn't have anything to do with the crossword puzzles themselves. My father in law said he would recommend this book, and rate it a 4 star, so that's what I'm doing. He said it's more current than some, although he doesn't necessarily have a preference either way. Happy crosswording!

This book is absolutly amazing, there are pictures that took me by surprise, they were cold, to the point, children dying, emaciated etc., Yes thru this there are also many beautiful, graceful pictures ... I was surprised how far back they went,I really appreciated the descrfiptions of the pictures to be direct, to the point!!! My journey toward a holistic approach to mind and health wasn't a choice. What I found, however, was the most thorough book I've ever read on the physical proof behind an unhealthy diet and mind.My road away from anxiety, toward health and wellness, has been long and hard, and it's still in progress. I've been targeting books on anxiety, diet, and meditation for months now, but this book offered me something I felt I'd been missing. The why's of what I'm doing. And it also put a face and a name to what I've otherwise been struggling to define. What I'm doing, where I'm trying to go, what is my ultimate outcome? I've KNOWN what it is for a long time, but defining clearly has been difficult. But today, with this book, I found my definition:"If you pay attention, there are many moments when you feel safe and secure; life looks beautiful; the mind is quiet and calm; you feel free of regret and worries; the past brings no bad memories; you find it easy to accept and appreciate your life and the people in it; an inner joy bubbles up; or you somehow feel that a higher presence exists and enfolds you."THAT is it! That's the definition I've been missing. The previously undefined goal I'm moving toward. I have long been working on many of the concepts or changes found in this book, but it brought them together in a way I found entirely enlightening and rewarding, and I also feel as if it will have a profound impact on my life moving forward!!!

If you are a Chopra fan and have followed his other books and lectures, this will certainly be a rewarding read. The first part of the book is very practical about issues of nutrition, diet, reducing inflammation in the body, stress, aging gracefully, and mind-body coordination, while the second two parts of the book delve into conscious evolution and what in many cultures has been called “peak experiences” or the flow — or what we know as effortless spontaneity, or transcendence (heading into the spiritual realm). It is the journey into the soul and spirit where Chopra shines through, and where I think the reader will find the core of it.In all, an interesting and enlightening book by Chopra, which any fan will like immensely.

I've always enjoyed Deepak Chopra's books. but this one was especially helpful.I spent last year in the hospital through ER three different times. I have Afib and other heart related issues.I appreciate Dr. Chopra's holistic approach to healing. Our western medicine leaves much to be desired.his book is well researched and yet written so the layman can benefit from the studies done.health does not have to be a complicated matter. and it gave me courage to take control of my own.I recommend this book to anyone who wishes to make common sense and a real doctor's guide to their own body a combined plan for optimal health!

I love the focus on the current state of knowledge around healthy processes. Learning to burn fat and avoiding sugar. Also adding an entire section to discuss mental health. I really enjoyed this book.

i love deepak and rudy but this book was very disappointing, there was nothing new in this book from his past books. there is just so many ways to say "live consciously , our beliefs and daily experiences effect our health". me and my aunt both read so much deepak and she felt the same way, very disappointed. if you have never read a book by deepak then you might find it interesting, but if you have read super gene or super brain, or eaven deepaks older books about healing its just the same ol stuff. many times i would come to a paragraph where they would explain a study or topic that i already knew and have heard many times.they are both great drs but if you are fans of them save your money, i dont think i will buy another book from either of the authors unless the topic is about something radically different

I’m relatively new to Deepak Chopra and I was afraid it would be a lot of yogi-ish hocus pocus. But I found it very readable and affirmed what I already thought but articulated more beautifully, more completely, and more clearly than I ever could. And it is very logical and scientific. The study about Marge made me think he was speaking to me directly. Brilliant.

Lots of good information--and I love the plan at the end of the book, with a list of lifestyle improvements to choose from for each day of the week.

A great book that blurs the lines between medical science and mindfulness. Our body and mind are one and the same, and this book proves how we need to start living with that notion everyday in order to achieve healthy and happy longevity.

After waiting YEARS for Zane to add on to the series of Dr. Marcella, you would think she would have came swinging from tree limb to tree limb, but unfortunately, all she did was climb the tree. As some reviewers already stated, this wasn't the same Zane that I fell in love with ("Addicted," "Nervous," "Afterburn," "Total Eclipse of the Heart," and "The Hot Box"). The Prologue, which I believe is extremely too long, slightly turned me off from the book. It took me FOREVER to complete it. Once I finished it, the book picked up a little bit for me but it didn't give me the grittiness that I needed or wanted. I was disconnected from the character, although I felt sorry for her. The explosive sex scenes that Zane normally gives wasn't present in this novel. Caprice/Ladonna/Wicket's journey to revenge could've slightly been better. The last chapter--not Epilogue--did excite me though, but that was that. I was entertained in some areas, obviously since I finished the book, but there are missing pieces to the puzzles. I have questions. I felt like the ending was rushed. Just...it was an okay read.Part of me wishes the book would've been about Dr. Marcella. I wanna know more about her. After three books, I still don't know her besides the fact that she seems very nice, but what's her story. Can that be the fourth part, Zane? Also, why did Caprice/Ladonna choose the name Wicket? I hoped after everything else you tried to explain, there would have been an explanation of that. It's not important, but the thought ran across my mind.All in all, it was an okay read. I would forever support Zane because she puts out bangers. I KNOW she will come back better than this.

I only chose four stars because I thought in some spots in the book it was a lot of unnecessary explanations of thoughts. Don't get me wrong, I liked the book and it was a page turner but I did skip a lot of when the main character was "thinking random thoughts" and dragging it out. And although, I guess the main character had to be in the majority of the book, it bothered me that there wasn't a lot more going into life with Hannah and growing up with Mr.Sterling. Also, in the Epilogue, it was explained what happened with everyone else except KAD.

Ok, I’m going to be honest! Zane is by far one of my favorite authors, however, this book let me down. It moved extremely slow in the beginning and kept jumping from flash backs to present. I understand that Zane was trying to give us a better understanding into the main character, but it was a bit confusing and mentally draining time jumping so much. I usually like the main characters that Zane creates, but with this chick caprice, I felt annoyed. She was a narcissistic spoiled little brat. I also felt like the story needed less unecessary fillers and more exciting action. “Addicted” was my first book I read from Zane, and since then I’ve been hooked. All her other books have hooked me just as good. Nervous was also an excellent one. But this story here was a bit boring and a bit painful to read through. I felt like I was forcing myself to read through some details and skipping through some paragraphs because I was trying to “get to the point.” I read the reviews before buying the book and other reviewers said the same thing, but I wanted to judge for myself... well, i give it three stars because it wasn’t terrible, but considering what I know Zane is capable of, this was a huge let down.

Wicket/ Ladonna 's transformation was DEEP... I took the journey and understood her pain. I sympathized with her but I wouldn't dare want to empathize with her. This book was not only compelling but you gave a hell of a lecture (Professor Zane). Mental illness has many forms and most are misunderstood it is not singular "Crazy", in addition - counseling works if given a chance. I truly enjoyed this book - Nervous and Addicted. This is in my top 10 of books and I read constantly.

I have loved Zane since her first novel and have read every piece or work she has ever written. I was so excited to see this new book I preordered and waited for the release. The book starts with such potential then falls flat toward the end. It's disjointed and leaves something to be desired. It was the worse story told that really could have been great.

Zane has always been one of my favorites...but for some reason this book did not seem well put together. I was left with so many unanswered questions...yet I was given so much detail about things that weren't necessarily important....The concept of the book is amazing though !!!!

I have always enjoyed reading Zane books. This here is an eye opener to let us know that this is real disease but giving you a great story to really understand it. Big Ups to Zane for another great book!

I have been waiting for another Zane book and was excited to see this one come out. However just when the characters were developing and Wicket was going after her revenge it seemed like Zane just got tired of writing and ended the book with a nice neat bow. I really want as into the book and was somewhat disappointed with the lackluster ending

I purchased the Mission Paris and Mission Amsterdam books for my 5 year old daughter for a recent trip. Although I intended them as a way to keep my daughter engaged, my whole family ended up loving these books. My daughter noticed paintings and sculptures that were in the book and then we would read about what we were looking at. I hope that the author continues to make more books on different cities around the world and the US so that I can continue to buy them for my family!

Planning travel with children is not easy. My son (10) and I spent 5 days in Amsterdam and this book helped us navigate the city in a really fun way. I was looking for fun ways to entertain him in museums in Europe and and found this wonderful series.

Very nicely laid out book. Hoping to use it and spark my interest of my 11 yo son on our trip to Amsterdam. Small and compact. Looks like fun.

We bought this for our recent trip to Amsterdam and our 6 year old daughter LOVED it. We all had fun trying to find the items in the missions. I’m certain we saw more of the museums then we would have without this book.I highly recommend this to anyone traveling with kids. I hope to ha e the opportunity to use some of the other books in this series. I recommended the Paris book (based only on our experience with the Amsterdam book) to a Mom on the playground in Amsterdam whose next stop (days later) was Paris.

So great, we hope they do more cities! My 12 year old loved it, and so did we.

Fun book and facts for my ten year old on our trip to Amsterdam.

This series really helps make traveling fun with young children. Might be intended for slightly older kids, but my 5 and 3 yr old daughters loved it! We had a great time exploring Amsterdam with this book - I'm so glad I bought it!

All of these scavenger hunt books make trips with kids more fun! They are on the look out for random things and keeps them engaged.
