There are many publication errors in this book that make it hard to understand what the book wants. As an example, this text is copied verbatim from a passage in the book."An experiment was done to measure the 24 hour effects of capsaicin in patients with a 25% negative energy balance counteracted the effects of a negative energy balance on energy expenditure and fat oxidation compared to 100% energy intake without capsaicin."This sentence makes no sense.
I bought the 101 series for my second round at the MCAT. Having a solid foundation (had already taken a Kaplan course and the MCAT once) I felt like I needed more practice. This book is def good practice, however the passages aren't totally representative. Whats good about the 101 books is it's broken down into specific topics so you can focus on where you're struggling. Personally, I found the Biology systems 1 and the chemistry books to be the most spot on. However, I feel they are excellent practice and the best series on the market.
great practice. the organization of the topics allows you to practice on your weaknesses. the passages and questions aren't totally representative of AAMC material, they are harder. if you can do these, AAMC stuff will be a breeze

Full of errors, confusing explanations, and is poorly representative of AAMC material (just compare some of these questions to the AAMC section bank). The MCAT is hard and frustrating enough without having to deal with garbage prep materials.Save your money, don't buy this.
I really liked these books but the paper in them makes it hard to write in the book. But I do like the questions because they are representative of AAMC, which is why I'm glad I got this book professionally scanned even though i had to pay extra but now i can print out the pages.
