Though the book does have plenty of hot bikers to keep our hearts pounding, the new characters she introduces us to as the residents of Silver Valley promise to take us on a wild ride.In this book, we get to know Puck Redhouse who we met in Reapers Stand. Puck and Painter serve fourteen months together and they develop a strong bond. I have to say the prologue seriously starts with a bang, my mouth literally dropped open at the end. Joanna really knows how to get a reader hooked."Like she was dancing through life to some song nobody else could hear. Never met another woman like her-she wasn't just sexy, she was a survivor and I admired that."This book is dark, gritty and violent at times, Becca’s situation is not a good one when we meet her. Puck saves her and she starts a new life in Callup, Idaho, he watches out for her from a far but leaves her to her life. However, when Becca needs him Puck is there to lend a hand though this time it’s on his terms. He knows she is attracted to him they certainly have a history but she’s skittish Puck is a big bad biker. Becca’s experiences with biker’s have not been good ones. Puck has his work cut out for him throughout the book convincing her that he is the one she should spend her life with, but Becca wants to live a normal life not an “MC†life like her mother. Becca has a temper and when she and Puck fight its explosive, anticipate hot angry sex.“I like playing rough Becca you push as hard as you want.â€Puck stole my heart in Reaper’s Stand I liked him then and I loved him in Silver Bastard, he has a dirty mouth and a dirtier mind I loved it. Becca was a broken young girl who turned into a strong young woman but her scars ran deep and it would take a lot of healing for Becca to be able to let a man in. She had a hard enough time letting her friends in, Danielle does a good job of breaking Becca’s barriers I really liked her. I loved the characters of Blake and Danielle and I hope we get to see more of them in the series. The other characters of Silver Valley, we meet like Shane and Rourke had me wondering what their deal is can’t wait to get their stories. Its not an easy road for these two passionate, sometimes angry characters to get together. The story was an up and down emotional journey. Becca’s mom is a psycho and puts that poor girl through so much pain I wanted to stab her myself.Some of our favorites from the Reaper MC books show up like Picnic and London. Painter is having a huge crisis when it comes to Melanie. I never thought I would want Painter’s story but Joanna made me love him.When I read a Joanna Wylde book, I always know I will get a full story with characters that jump off the page. These groups of people in Callup, Idaho are no exception. I anxiously anticipate more from them.The action in Joanna’s stories keeps you on the edge of your seat. Words like thrilling, exciting and non-stop drama run through my head as I read her books. Her female characters are strong and sometimes a little crazy. Her male characters are alpha protective to a fault, gritty no nonsense type guys that hook you in and don’t let go.This turned out to be an excellent start to a new Joanna Wylde series, Fathomless is next I believe and if the bonus epilogue in Silver Bastard is any indication it will be a damn good story.RECEIVED AN ARC FROM NETGALLEY IN EXCHANGE FOR AN HONEST REVIEW
Simply put,Bloody Amazing!Joanna Wylde is like magician,when you start reading her book,it's like some spell is put on you and you can't stop from the first till the last page!Silver Bastard is in the rank of Reapers MC books,raw,gritty,hot relationship,great base story,characters with whom you can connect,understand their inner thoughts and fights,simply flows like a water,with bends on the road,but in the end you have something real,fantastic thing that stays with you.Puck & Becca are main characters,two stubborn people,and there is something special between them from the first moment they met,but it will take five years their paths to connect again in one.For some decisions taken by the Becca,can be understood why, sometimes,there is a small spark of hope that just does not want to extinguish despite all the things that you see and you've passed in your life,but in the end she will make the right decision for herself and Puck.And for the fans of Reapers MC,we have little glimpses of our favorite characters from that series :)It was a delight to read this story,to read about the connection between them,fighting with their passion and to find their common path :)And the epilog is so,so wonderful,also there is bonus epilog,but for who will be,it remains on your to discover when you decide to read this book.Prepare for another phenomenal story of Joanna Wylde!
Silver BastardI don't know what I expected from the new series, but this wasn't it. I didn't expect the series to be so damn good! Ms. Wylde just made me a lot happier and inpatient waiting for book 2 in the series. Puck and Becca are so perfect for each other and the fact that he waited 5 years to claim her. He knows she was broken, so after he saved her five years ago (when she was just 16), he waited for her to grow up before making his move. Of course, Bella fought the attraction, she didn’t want anything to do with a MC because of her past.Best of all, a few of the reapers were all over this book. Yaayyy! So, of course, the characters were great. I loved Puck from he was introduced in Reaper’s Stand and loved the friendship/brotherhood with Painter who we got to see a lot of in this book. You saw his relationship with Melanie from another perspective. This is one of the things that I love about Joanna’s writing-her ability to intertwine her stories using needle and thread.As is synonymous with Joanna’s books, non-stop action, gritty, exciting, and just a thrill ride.This book was just a roller-coaster of emotions for me. The plot was well developed, and will written… and you will just have to read it to see what I mean.
