I read each of these books as they were released. I read in Kindle Unlimited because they were coming out quickly, so quickly that I bought none of the Kurtherian books. But now? As a set? As a bargain? I bought them immediately.And why did I buy them? Not because they are a bargain. There have been many series to spin off ever since Bethany Ann made her first appearance in Death Becomes Her, most of them excellent. This one? One of my favorites of all the series.Valerie has a lot in common with BA, one thing in particular: She collects people into her circle, people who might be (or have been) cast offs but with her they find their spot.In this series you get all 8 Reclaiming Honor books in one set. Don't waste time! Buy them! Get started reading! And if you have bought the original Kurtherian Gambit series, get them too. Start there but get started but even if you don't start at the beginning, this will be good. It is DEFINITELY 5 STARS!

I read every book when they were originally released, and grabbed the box set as well. Justin Sloan’s characters are believable and evolve with the stories. If you like kick-a** women with a healthy underpinning of maintaining honor and pursuing justice, you’ll love these books set within the greater Kurtherian Gambit Universe.

I have never found such a total mass of good writers that can marry into such a great series. This series could stand alone, but if you have other books from the Kutherian Gambit series it is even better.

Went through the 8 books like a bandit and going online now for Valerie's Elites. Then going for Michael Anderle's series. Good thing I love reading esp books as great as these. 😊

Another brilliant series set in the Kutherian world! A must read

Just finished the first eight books and will now continue the series. I enjoyed all of them and look forward to the rest of the series.

Each book of the series covers her exploits and her challenges. Good read if you enjoy all the twists and turns and sometimes very violent battles.

I could not put it down, Loved it I go nuts trying to link the pieces together how to connect to TQB. You guys need to put a companion book to help navigate what Michael started, very good truly enjoyed.

This was such a fun book for my kid to read. He had a smile on his face the entire way through the book. And then after he was done he was cracking up laughing. And then.... he read this book again for more times in a row. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Seuss books. They can keep the kids attention, they are super fun.

Read this book before reading aloud to very young children. While reading to a 3 year old I ended up skipping sections including: defining predators and prey; fast antelopes living and slow ones not; carpet vipers injecting poison and hiding in weeds, etc.At the same time I bought the Weather book and it was excellent and great for a toddler.

This book is a hit at our house. At times the rhyme is forced and the cadence of the sentences trips up a bit, BUT after reading an average of 5 times a day for the last two weeks, it is still one of my son's favorites (and I've figured out where to put emphasis to get the rhymes and rhythm to work...well, at least to work better). He loves learning about the different animals, and the information goes beyond surface level. Sometimes the vocabulary is a bit advanced and not always defined, but I like that it stretches him a bit. Learning to ask what words mean is a good skill to have, and I have found that people are very impressed when a three-year-old accurately uses words like tawny and herbivore. There is quite a bit of text per page, which is great because it gives more info about each animal but could be challenging for kids who are not used to longer sections of text. Since each page or so presents a new type of animal, you don't have to read the whole book at one sitting, which it could be helpful for working up to reading more words per page. Although I tend to prefer nonfiction books that have photographs, these illustrations are playful and bright, which helps the book feel more like a "fun," fiction book than an educational one. All in all, I love that my kiddo is excited about learning--both information about animals and vocabulary so this book comes highly recommended from our family.

We love these informative dr. Seuss books. My three year old loves the rhyme and we love how much he learns from them. Packed with information.

My students love Cat in the Hat and Dr. Seuss books so I read this during our unit on African animals. Very cute (and informative!) way to learn a little bit about African animals. It was a hit with kindergarten!

A dear friend was recently diagnosed with Parkinsons. He found this book highly useful. Reading about how many folks function day-to-day with this disease encouraged him. I wish this book had been around when my brother was first diagnosed. During the early years post diagnosis, he was very depressed and thought life was over. This book would've shown him what has taken him years to discover on his own -- there is hope and how to manage his life daily in spite of the disease.

This book has given me great insight in caring for my 71-yr-old sister who has Parkinson’s.

I ordered this to give to a friend whose husband had been diagnosed with Parkinson's. I was looking for a book that would explain in non-medical jargon what to expect as the disease progressed. They have both read the book and found in very helpful. It is not written by a doctor. It is written by a lawyer who has Parkinson's so it has the human touch rather than the medical. I highly recommend this for anyone who has recently been diagnosed.

I am a physician who cares for patients with another chronic disease. I wrote a book for them and their families, and when I was diagnosed with Parkinson's, I wanted to get my hands on a similar bilk, but for PD patients, something like: Parkinson’s Disease: A Guide for Patient and Family. I was disappointed that my neurologist couldn’t/didn’t point me to anything other than the Michael J Fox Foundation website. It was there that I saw reference to Mr Vine's book. It looked promising, so I got it, and boy was I right!I have found this book it to be everything I was looking for.I commend the author for his lucid writing style, the depth and breadth of his knowledge, his ease with talking (well, writing) to patients in a way that is straightforward and optimistic, without being unrealistic. And, I thank him (thank you! thank you!) for writing this wonderful book.

This guide really is "indispensable." Authored by a Parkinson's patient, it is informative and inspiring. The use of interviews with Parkinson's patients and their partners throughout made all the subject matter all that more accessible and absorbable. Thank you John Vine.

My 10 year old sports fanatic loves them, especially this one about his favorite player, LeBron James.

I purchased this for my 8 yr old grandson. He's a huge LeBron fan b/c his Dad went to the same high school. He read 60 pages the first day and finished the book in less than a school week. I'd say it was a hit!As a teacher, I've been aware of the Matt Christopher books for a long time. They are quality reading.

Totally in awe. The time and skill required to complete this book of history brought to life, is staggering. I've been anticipating the release for weeks now. Previews and discussions on Twitter. History with the veil of black and white lifted.

This is a beautiful and fascinating book, published in the UK as “The Colour of Time” and in the U.S. as “The Color of Time” (October 2, 2018). The well-written and informative text is by Dan Jones, author of “The Plantagenets,” “The War of the Roses” and “The Templars.” Each decade is introduced by a single photograph, a “Zeitgeist” overview of the period, and a timeline that is loosely tied to the photographs that follow.The narrative explains each photograph and the historical context from which it is taken. The photographs drive the story, and in this sense the book reminds me of Neil MacGregor’s magnificent “A History of the World in 100 Objects.” Some of the photos are familiar and iconic (you’ve seen them in black and white), others a bit more obscure—all are beautifully rendered by Marina Amaral.I learned a great deal from this beautiful book and thoroughly enjoyed reading it. I’ve also picked up two other news books featuring colorized photographs, “History as They Saw It”, by Wolfgang Wild and Jordan Lloyd, and “Retrographic” by Michael Carroll. Some of the photos are the same, and it will be interesting to see how different artists have interpreted how the colors should appear (there’s inevitably a bit or artistic license involved).On a related topic, be on the look out for Peter Jackson’s new documentary, “They Shall Not Grow Old,” in which he colorizes World War I footage, uses computer technology to smooth out the jerkiness of the old films, and adds sound and words (based on forensic lip reading of the old films) to create a documentary of WWI “as they saw it.”

An absolutely gorgeous book. Purchased as a gift, and it took my breath away when it arrived. Now everyone on my list is getting a copy for Christmas, including "my husband" (let's be honest it's for me). It's difficult to explain the emotional depth the color adds to these photos, but it's a masterpiece and I can't recommend this book more highly. Note - I actually prefer this UK cover to the American version, which is different and has a photo on it. To me, this catches the eye better.

Intriguing!Of course this isn’t a definitive history book, rather snapshots of what was happening in the world from 1850 to 1960.The very first pic is of JFK and Jackie O.Understated, real, concise...it’s almost like you have your own time machine. You realize history more in depth given the color enhanced photographs.This book in the very least is at least a great coffee table reader.

After receiving it and reading through the first series of pages shows it's an absolutely stunning book.The beautiful full page photographs and the accompanying text that details the subject and the time they lived in really bring you back in time. There's nothing like it. You'll lose yourself in this book!

Beautiful. That's the only word that comes to mind when I page through this. Seeing images from the 1860s in full, vibrant color is amazing. And the colorization is so well done that you'd think Ms. Amaral has a time machine. Highly, HIGHLY recommended.
